RegEd Privacy Notice
RegEd is a business-to-business software company that provides enterprise regulatory technology solutions to help financial services firms manage compliance and risk. This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how RegEd, Inc., including its affiliates and subsidiaries (“we,” “our,” or “us”), collect, use, maintain, disclose, and otherwise process personal data through reged.com, including its web pages and subdomains (“Site”), and when you interact with us in other ways, such as by emailing us or contacting our customer service.
By using our Site or otherwise interacting with us, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Notice.
Personal Data We Collect
Personal data is information that directly or indirectly identifies, relates to, or can be linked to you. Personal data includes sensitive data, and excludes publicly available, deidentified, or aggregated information.
Generally, we collect personal data directly from you, from our affiliates, through technologies used to help secure and understand interactions with our Site (such as Cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies), from personal data we create (such as when we assign you a login or develop inferences about you), from companies we do business with (such as your employer), from service providers that help us run our business, and from third parties (such as advertising networks, social networks, internet service providers, and data analytics providers). Depending on how you interact with us, we and our vendors may obtain the following personal data:
- Contact Information, including name and phone number.
- Commercial Information, including employer, job title, and work email address when you interact with us on behalf of your company.
- Credentialing Details, including records of licenses, registrations, certifications, continuing education courses, training programs, or other educational offerings earned, received, purchased, accessed, or considered.
- Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information, including device identifiers, browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interactions with our websites or advertisements.
- Job Applicant Information, including resume/CV and application materials, screening or interview responses, and education records such as transcripts.
- Inferences we might make about you or your company based on other details we collect.
- Any other information captured when you interact with us, such as through customer service calls (which may be recorded), marketing outreach, or email communications.
How We Use and Disclose Personal Data
Generally, we use and disclose the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve our services, including operating and maintaining our Site; providing information about our services; processing payments and orders; communicating with you about our services; responding to your requests and questions; improving our Site and the services we offer; assessing performance of our Site and services; tracking and addressing technical issues; and developing new or enhanced offerings.
- To operate our business, including performing system administration and technology management; recordkeeping and auditing purposes; for risk management, investigations, reporting, and other legal and compliance reasons; identifying prospective customers, business clients, suppliers, and other vendors; and administering our relationships with our customers, business clients, suppliers, and other vendors.
- For security and integrity, including protecting our Site and platforms from cyber risks; authenticating visitors; preventing, identifying, investigating, and responding to fraud, illegal or malicious activities, and other potential liabilities; enforcing our policies and terms; protecting our rights or those of others; fulfilling our legal obligations; and generally providing you with a secure experience when using our Site and the services we offer.
- To advertise and market, including measuring the use of our Site and effectiveness of our advertising and marketing on other digital properties; and developing insights to improve our Site and provide our users with enhanced features and functionalities, such as customized experiences.
- For recruitment purposes, such as evaluating your application materials and determining your eligibility and suitability for employment; and communicating with you throughout the application, interview, and hiring process regarding your candidacy and job opportunities.
We may disclose personal data:
- To our group of companies.
- To vendors that help us operate our Site and the services we offer, such as analytics, email services, processing payments, promotion and marketing administration, customer service, and detecting and deterring fraud or other illegal activities.
- To adtech companies and other vendors who support Site security, analytics, and customization.
- To strategic partners, including business partners.
- As part of a business transaction, including in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business assets (for example, further to a merger, reorganization, liquidation, or any other business transaction), including negotiations of such transactions.
- As required or permitted by law, including where we determine that disclosure of specific information is reasonably necessary to comply with the request of a law enforcement or regulatory agency or other legal process.
- With appropriate notice or your consent or at your direction, as applicable.
We may combine your personal data with data we collect. We may deidentify, anonymize, or aggregate personal data or permit others to do so. Once deidentified, anonymized, or aggregated, we maintain data in that form and do not attempt to reidentify it.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We and our vendors may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, APIs, and similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) to collect information when you interact with our Site, emails, or ads. These Cookies may collect usage information (such as your browser type, IP address and device identifier, length and time of visit, whether you clicked on content or visited particular pages), and general geolocation data derived from your IP address (to deliver content based on your location). Cookies we use may collect information about your online activities over time and across different devices and websites when you use our Site.
This information is used by us and our vendors for various purposes, including to secure the Site, store your preferences and settings, enable you to sign in, analyze how our Site performs, track your interactions with our Site, better understand you, deliver targeted advertising, and combat fraud.
For example, we use Google Analytics and related Google tools to understand how visitors use our Site, measure performance, and support our marketing and analytics activities. We have configured these tools to limit the use of personal data for advertising purposes where required by law. For example, we can disable certain advertising features and data-sharing settings in Google Analytics and apply restricted processing controls for certain Google advertising tags, including on a regional basis. We also may use social media platforms to conduct marketing campaigns. To change your privacy and advertising settings on a social media platform, follow any instructions provided by the social media platforms you use.
Additional options for opting out of targeted advertising may be available through your own browser settings. Many advertising and analytics providers are members of associations, which may provide information about these and other methods for opting out of analytics and targeted advertising. Additional information is available at the Network Advertising Initiative’s How to Opt Out page. If you are in Canada, you can also reference the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada’s AdChoices site. Please be aware that, like many websites, our Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals.
We are not responsible for the effectiveness of external parties’ opt out options or programs, or the accuracy of their statements regarding their opt outs or programs. Note that opting out of some tracking technologies may result in certain online features not functioning properly.

Our Site and email communications may contain links to, or features facilitated by, other online services. This Notice does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control.
How Long We Retain Personal Data
We keep the categories of personal data we collect for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, unless otherwise required or permitted by law. This generally means retaining personal data for as long as one of the following apply:
- Your personal data is reasonably necessary to manage our operations, to manage your relationship with us, or to satisfy another purpose for which we collected the information;
- Your personal data is reasonably necessary for purposes that are compatible with purposes disclosed at the time the personal data was collected; or
- The personal data is reasonably required to protect or defend our rights or property or those of others.
Where personal data is used for more than one purpose, we will retain it until the purpose with the longest period expires.
Your Choices
If you access and use our Site through your employer, please reach out to your employer to access or correct your personal data. If you have an account with us, you can access and correct information in your account through your account settings or by emailing us at privacy@RegEd.com.
You can also opt out of receiving marketing or promotional emails from us. If you no longer want to receive our promotional email communications, you can unsubscribe by clicking the “unsubscribe” link found in our emails. If you opt out of promotional emails, we may still send you transactional emails, such as those related to your account or products or services you request from us.
Additional Disclosures for California Residents
This section applies to personal data we collect from residents of California. Unless otherwise noted, the disclosures in this section cover our activities in the 12 months before the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Notice as well as our current privacy practices.
Personal Data We Collect, Use, and Disclose
We may collect the personal data described in Section 1 (“Personal Data We Collect”), both online and offline, depending on how you interact with us.
We do not typically request sensitive personal data, unless you voluntarily provide it to us, such as through email outreach that you send. However, we may collect some sensitive personal data from job applicants. We use sensitive personal data solely for permitted purposes and do not offer the right to limit our use of such information.
Sales and Sharing of Personal Data
We do not sell personal data or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under California law). We may disclose certain information collected through Cookies to our service providers and vendors that help us measure and improve our Site and run advertising and marketing campaigns, but we do so in a manner intended to constitute processing on our behalf rather than a sale or sharing of personal data.
You can still manage our use of Cookies through widely available controls described in the “Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies” section in this Notice. RegEd will honor opt-out preference signals when applicable.
Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have certain privacy rights under applicable law. To submit a request relating to your personal data, please email us at privacy@reged.com. In your email, please note the privacy right(s) you wish to exercise and any relevant details, such as specific details you want deleted or corrected. Your authorized agent, someone you designate to act for you, may also submit a request on your behalf by using the same email. We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising your lawful privacy rights.
We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Please note that if you appoint an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, direct identity verification or verification of the validity of the request may still be required.
Sometimes we are unable to process requests relating to your personal data, in which case, your request will be denied in whole or in part. When we deny a request, we will explain why in our response. If you believe we denied your request in error, you may ask us to reconsider your request by responding to the communication we sent you or following any other instructions provided in that response.
Right to Know. You may request information about the personal data we have collected about you, including the categories and specific pieces of personal data, the categories of sources of that information, the purposes for collecting and disclosing it, and the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed. You may also request information about any categories of personal data disclosed for a business purpose and the recipients of those disclosures.
Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
Right to Delete. You may request that we delete your personal data.
Shine the Light Law. California’s “Shine the Light” law permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of certain personal data to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal data for this purpose. If you are a California resident, you may request information about our compliance with the Shine the Light law by contacting us by email or postal mail using the information provided in the “Contact Us” section. Any such request must include “California Shine the Light Request” in the first line of the description and include your name, street address, city, state, and ZIP code. Please note that we are only required to respond to one request per customer for each calendar year.
Additional Disclosures for Canadian Residents
This section applies to personal data we collect from residents of Canada.
Personal Data We Collect, Use, and Disclose
For Canadian residents, we may collect the categories of personal data described in Section 1 (“Personal Data We Collect”). This may include information you provide directly (such as when you contact us or request information), information collected automatically when you use our Site (including through Cookies, as described in Section 3), and information we receive from your employer or other business partners in connection with our business-to-business relationships. We may also collect call recordings when you contact our customer service (where permitted by law and with appropriate notice).
We use personal data for the purposes described in Section 2 (“How We Use and Disclose Personal Data”), including to provide and improve our Site and services, operate our business, support security and fraud prevention, communicate with you, and conduct marketing and analytics.
In general, RegEd collects, uses, and discloses personal data with your knowledge and consent (express or implied, as appropriate), except where otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. The form of consent depends on the sensitivity of the personal data and the reasonable expectations of the individual.
We may share personal data with our affiliates and with service providers and vendors that perform services on our behalf (for example, hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support, payment processing, marketing support, and security), as described in Section 2. Within our organization, access to personal data is limited to employees and representatives who need it to perform their job functions, such as personnel supporting operations, customer support, information security, finance, and sales and marketing.
In many cases, providing personal data is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide personal data required for a particular purpose, RegEd may be unable to provide certain services, process transactions, or respond to requests.
Personal Data Security
RegEd implements and maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. These safeguards are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal data and apply throughout its lifecycle, including collection, use, storage, and destruction. RegEd periodically reviews and updates its security practices to reflect evolving risks and technologies. Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure.
RegEd may transfer personal data to vendors that process personal data on our behalf, including vendors located outside of Canada (for example, in the United States). We use contractual and other appropriate measures designed to provide a comparable level of protection for personal data when it is processed by our vendors.
Privacy Rights
If you are a Canadian resident, you may have rights under applicable law to access and request correction of the personal data we maintain about you. You may also withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If you use an authorized representative, we may require information demonstrating that the representative is permitted to act on your behalf.
If you have concerns about our privacy practices, please contact us first using the information in Section 10 (“Contact Us”) so we can try to address your concern. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and, in Quebec, with the Commission d’accès à l’information.
Additional Disclosures for Visitors Outside the United States and Canada
If you access the Site or use our services from outside the United States, please be aware that personal data we collect may be transferred to, stored in, used in, and otherwise processed in the United States. Data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of your country of residence. Your use of the Site, or your provision of personal data to us, indicates that you have reviewed this Notice and agree that we may process your personal data in accordance with the privacy practices described in this Notice and in compliance with applicable United States law.
Changes
We may periodically update this Notice and will notify you by revising the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page or by taking any other steps required by law. Please review this Notice from time to time to remain aware of our current privacy practices.
